Who: Nicole Taylor and Luke Momirovski.

Where: Doltone House, Pyrmont.

LUKE was hardly expecting to meet his future wife when he sent off an order for computer printers in 2003. But he didn't count on Nicole, 24, handling his paperwork.

"He was really shy and quiet and played hard to get," she says. "But I put in some work and eventually he surrendered and asked me on a date."

Two years after their first date, Luke, 25, organised a night out at Nicole's favourite restaurant, Doyles on the Beach in Watsons Bay.

However, Luke overshot the car park and had to follow a circuitous one-way road to find his way back. Along the way, he stopped by the harbour and suggested a starlit walk.

"The whole drive in I had been obsessed with the biggest, brightest star I had ever seen," Nicole says. "As I was looking at the sky, Luke got down on one knee and said 'Jitterbug, I love you so much. It has been an amazing two years. I can't wait to spend the rest of our lives together and to have you as my wife. Will you marry me?"'

After asking Luke if he was joking, Nicole said yes "several times". The couple then sped off to the restaurant for their much-delayed dinner. However, their plates went untouched as they ran up huge phone bills telling their nearest and dearest to pull out their frocks and suits for a wedding.

Nicole chose a seasonal theme for the wedding: "We wanted a fresh summer theme and asked everyone to imagine Spring Carnival races when considering their attire."

However, the only filly on track was Nicole, who walked down the aisle at Monte Sant Angelo Chapel in North Sydney to 98 Degrees' I Do Cherish You.

Nicole says Luke got carried away when it came to kissing her at the end of the ceremony and was admonished by the priest.

"My dad was also making disapproving noises from the pew behind us," she says.

After the ceremony, the couple took off to the city to take bridal photos in front of bus stops. Nicole says it was "a blast standing on York Street stopping traffic until a big bus sped toward us". Luckily, Luke, Nicole and her bridal train jumped out of the way of the Chatswood express in time and made it to the reception.

Nicole says she gave her speakers strict instructions to talk for only seven minutes, but her brother ignored her and brought up every embarrassing moment of her 24 years, much to everyone's amusement.

Luke's dad, meanwhile, regaled guests with stories of Luke's youthful days as a BMX bandit. Nicole's dad told Luke he had given his daughter away for good and would not allow a refund or exchange.

Nicole and Luke spent four days in Bangkok and a further eight days in Khao Lak for their honeymoon.

The dress: Nicole wore a white silk gown with sweetheart neckline, long-fitted bodice and full skirt hand-beaded with Swarovski and pearl crystals, from Zoe Marie Couture.

The flowers: Nicole carried a bouquet of arum lilies in summer tones of orange, pink and yellow, by Epping Florist.

The food: The menu included antipasto, pan-seared scallops and rigatoni ragu for entrees, eye fillet of beef and barramundi for mains and mini-caramel croquembouche and chocolate cones for dessert.

The wedding party: Nicole's sisters, Emma and Katherine Taylor, served as her bridesmaids.

The cake: A three-tier marble mud cake with pink oriental lilies, jewels and pearls with white icing, by Celebration Cakes.

Kylie and Dylan were neighbours at Maroubra for 1 1/2years, but met one night putting out the rubbish. They travelled overseas, bought an apartment and eventually married in front of 85 guests. "It wasn't a fairytale wedding," Kylie says. "It was better than that."

Stephen proposed to Sara on St Valentine's Day last year as they travelled to Whale Beach in a limousine filled with roses. Steven had spent months choosing the ring.
